Big Kids Gumball Rally 2/22/25
ZOOM. KAPOW, HOORAY, opening night at Industry Racing rocked the Thuderdome and thrilled those in it. Yes it’s true there were some hiccups that caused the checkered to drop a little later than normal but that time was well spent as the racing was excellent and the comradery of friends and fans reconnecting and celebrating the start of the new 2025 Industry race season made for a night some hoped would never end.

As always promoter Kelly Inman had the place dressed to the 10’s. New paint, fresh track with lots of dirt, the place was ready for its two day Gumball Rally event.

The pits were a madhouse as riders showed off new race attire and machines. Nice to see some new faces it appears that 2025 may be the year younger riders start winning more. But not on this night as veteran Max Ruml won every heat and took home the Scratch main. Things were a little different on the Handicap side as the youngster Slater Lightcap took home the gold.

Not much to report other than sad if you missed it. Luckily you get another chance as this Saturday March 1, Industry will host the 9th annual Connor Penhall Memorial Cup. Named to honor Speedway World Champion Bruce Penhall son Connor that died in a tragic accident on April 4, 2012 when he was struck by a drunk driver it attracts the best of the best Division 1 racers and pays a 15,000.00 purse. Veteran racer and Penhall friend Rick Miller will be the Grand Marshal.

Racers battling for this prestigious March 1st title include: Max Ruml, Billy Janniro, Anton Karlsson, Slater Lightcap, Wilbur Hancock, Austin Novratil, Timmy Dion, Levi Leutz, Russell Green, Alex Martin, Justin Almon, Jordan Vanderham, Darren Armbruster, Mark Fillebrown and Brad Sauer. Sidecars and Juniors will also be on the program.

Results from the 2/22/Gumball were as follows.
Scratch Main 5 Max Ruml, 1 Broc Nicol, 23 Timmy Dion, 14n Billy Janniro.

Handicap Main: 28 Slater Lightcap, 145 Will Cairns, 137 Justin Almon, 117 Wilbur Hancock, 5 Max Ruml, 27 Chris Kerr.

Division 2 Main: 182 Rudy Laurer, 159 Kevin Fiore, 251 Jacob Wondolowski, 101 Jake Scarbrough.
Need to mention this was the first (AZ) Aragon – Zechner Division 2 purse and payed and additional 1st $150., 2nd $100, 3rd $75. 4th $50.
These AZ purse payments will be given at every Division 2 Main Event that is held at Industry in 2025.

Division 3 Main: 187 Josh King, 255 Cameron Dalbey, 123n Catherine Moore, 197 Ryan Bacarella
