Chris Hesmer takes the Final!
Niagara Raceway Results - July 8, 2000

Track conditions were dry and a little dusty. As a result there was little if any traction off the groove which put passing at
a premium and races were generally won from the gate and around the first two turns.
Chris Hesmer added a little entertainment for the fans by taking the outside line in his first race leaving the inside to
brother Aaron. This backfired for him when he slid off on the loose surface coming out of turn four. Fortunately with only
three riders in the heat he was able to remount and still get the single point which ultimately earned him a spot in the final. Jeff Orosz and Andy Harris had the only close race of the night being shoulder to shoulder across the line at the end of lap
one only for the race to be stopped when John Mercier came down on the next lap. Orosz won the rerun and both he and John Kehoe were undefeated going into the final.
"With the big three of C. Hesmer, Kehoe and Orosz in form fans hoped for another spectacular final but it was not to be.
With no traction available on the outside the race was decided by the second turn when Chris Hesmer edged around
Harris and sped off for an easy win. The only positional changes came when Harris drifted wide coming out of turn four on
the first and second laps and first Kehoe and then Orosz moved past. John Busler took the Consolation final.
[NOTE: There was no D2 class.]
